AAWCO: Mission Statement

Strategic
Plan 1995-2000
MISSION
STATEMENT
We aspire to
sustain and augment the network of association states, provinces
and affiliates crafted by the foresight of our founders, to share
information, ideas and camaraderie in support of our members and
of our partners in agriculture.
VISION STATEMENT
We foresee
the Association in a transition period the next five years in conjunction
with the 1995 farm bill. We envision federal responsibility passed
to the states with the association playing a key roll in facilitating
this transition among its members. We see our membership expanding,
with Mexico and possibly other countries realizing the value of
the Association and its strength in assisting members. Federal resources
(dollars) will continue to dwindle; as they do, we foretell an Association
that will meet the challenge of creative ideas to assist members
in replacing federal dollars to sustain programs. We envision an
opportunity to embellish our network with our affiliates to fortify
our commitment to agriculture.
OPERATING
PHILOSOPHY
We believe
in "fair play" during adversarial situations, in giving
each individual their opportunity to voice an opinion, a suggestion
or tell their side of the story, keeping in mind the facts of any
situation will provide the logic for difficult decisions.
We believe
the sum of the membership is stronger than any one part of the equation,
that our strength lies in the ability to rationalize, compromise
and assist those members in need collectively with empathy in a
timely manner.
We believe
our responsibility in agriculture lies in the service we provide,
the integrity we maintain and the initiative we take in posturing
our members to address the complex issues at the state and federal
level to achieve viable solutions.
We believe
in each other and affirm our commitment to "one hour each week
for AAWCO."
